Tigerville - North Greenville hosts one of its four 2026 home games tonight when the Golden Eagles of the University of Charleston come to Tigerville for a 7 PM, Friday Night Lights non-conference matchup.
North Greenville is coming off of a thriller in Salisbury inn which the Trailblazers took down Catawba College with a go - ahead rushing touchdown from
Kam Montgomery and an interception on what would have been the game tying two - point conversion from Quincy Hayward. North Greenville won 40 - 38 to win the first season opener since 2021.
Kam Montgomery's four touchdowns tied him for the program lead in the category with two other players in the process. The Golden Eagles travel to Tigerville searching for their first win of the season after losing to perennial D-2 power Grand Valley State (38-10) and a week two loss to California University of Pennsylvania in week two 49-24.
Friday night's game will be the third meeting between NGU and the University of Charleston with the Golden Eagles holding a 2 - 1 edge in the win - loss column. The first meeting between the two programs came in 2003 a 37 - 24 win for the Trailblazers. The Golden Eagles have won the last two however including the last match-up in 2009, a 34 - 7 loss also in Tigerville.
