Tigerville – A late rally for NGU came up short on Saturday afternoon in Hayes Gymnasium, a 67 – 64 decision in favor of the visiting Flying Fleet.
North Greenville was only 7 of 33 from long range against the Fleet but cashed in 16 Erskine turnovers for 15 points. The Trailblazers also had 28 points in the paint and 20 second chance points.
NGU trailed by as many as 17 – points in the second half but still had the energy for one more late surge.
Savion Brown would eventually cut the Fleet lead to just three points with 4:06 left in the game. The Blazers were able to hold the Flying Fleet scoreless in the final four minutes of the game but were unable to connect on seven three – point attempts during that stretch as Erskine ultimately escaped Tigerville with the win.
Michael Wilson Jr. led North Greenville with 23 – points. He was 3 of 4 from three-point range.
Savion Brown and
Max Topham both had 11 – points each.
