Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers put together a huge first half that resulted in a thirty point lead, and was able to hang on in the second half to defeat the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College with a final score of 62-46 at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU completely dominated the first half as a .519 field goal percentage led to a 41-11 lead going into halftime. Belmont Abbey put together a much improved second half, outscoring North Greenville by fourteen. However, NGU was able to hang on for a double-digit victory. The Trailblazers shot .397 from the field with a .407 percentage from three point range. NGU was also able to capitalize off of turnovers as seventeen by Belmont Abbey led to eighteen points.
Michael Wilson, Jr. posted twelve points as well as two rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal.
Jacob Brown recorded ten rebounds, seven points, four assists, and three steals.
Max Topham finished with eleven points, four rebounds, two steals, and two assists.
NGU will face the Flying Fleet of Erskine College on Saturday, February 8th at Hayes Gymnasium.
