Wilson, N.C. – North Greenville fell to 4 – 9 in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday following an 82 – 72 loss to Barton.
The score was tied at 33 – 33 after the first half. North Greenville led by as many as 10 – points in the first 20 – minutes but the Bulldogs closed the half on a 7 – 0 run to even the tally before the first half buzzer.
The Trailblazers never led in the second half and trailed by as many as 15 – points. NGU fought back and cut the deficit to just seven.
CaDarrius Sowell scored eight straight points for North Greenville to cut it to 65 – 58 with four minutes left in the game.
Points off turnovers proved the difference in the game. The Bulldogs capitalized, turning 14 NGU turnovers in to 23 – points while NGU failed to convert on 10 – Barton turnovers.
Sowell led NGU with 18 – points going 4 – 5 from three point distance.
Michael Wilson Jr. finished with 16 – points while
Savion Brown tacked on 14.
Max Topham had 11.
