The North Greenville Trailblazers put together a 67-65 victory against the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. A competitive first half that didn't see a lead beyond four points resulted in a 33-29 lead for Lees-McRae. However, the second half features several momentum swings that saw Lees-McRae lead by as much as five and North Greenville lead by double-digits. A 16-2 lead by the Bobcats resulted in a four point lead. However, North Greenville responded with a seven point run to reclaim the lead. In the final minute, a dunk by the Bobcats closed the deficit to one point, but only one point would be scored afterwards, which was a free throw by NGU to ultimately hang on for a two point win. North Greenville finished the evening with a .368 field goal percentage with a .412 percentage from three point territory.
Jacob Brown posted a double-double, recording twelve points and sixteen rebounds while also providing two assists, a block, and a steal. Michael Wilson, Jr. finished a strong night with nineteen points, seven rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
CaDarrius Sowell also had a good night, scoring sixteen points and putting up four rebounds and a steal.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, January 11th against the Southern Wesleyan Warriors at Hayes Gymnasium.
