The North Greenville Trailblazers fell twice on Saturday in the Redderson Invitational, falling short in the five set thriller against Tusculum University then dropping a three set match to the Panthers of Florida Tech. With the losses, North Greenville wraps up the weekend with a record of 1-3. NGU took the opening two sets against the Pioneers of Tusculum University, winning set one with a score of 25-20 as well as set two with a score of 25-17. However, Tusculum would come to life in set three, taking the set with a score of 25-22 then doing the same in set four to also take it 25-22. Set five was controlled by the Pioneers, who won the set 15-8 to take the match. NGU finished the match leading in kills, aces, assists, and digs but trailed in total blocks. The Trailblazers then took on Florida Tech later in the afternoon, but would be swept in three sets as the Panthers would take sets one and three with a score of 25-19 as well as set two with a score of 25-10. North Greenville was outperformed in all categories and finished with an attack percentage of just .050.
Anna Fiddelke again led the day in total kills, finishing with twenty kills as well as four digs and three block assists.
Samantha Ball posted twenty-seven digs, nineteen kills, four service aces, and an assist.
Peyton Taylor also recorded nineteen kills in addition to eight digs and two block assists.
NGU will return to action on Friday, September 13th against the Jaguars of Augusta University in Aiken, South Carolina.
