North Greenville Falls Just Short in Conference Matchup Against King

North Greenville fell short of a conference road win in Bristol, Tennessee against the King University, ultimately dropping the game with a final score of 77-74. North Greenville led for the majority of the first half and was able to extend the lead to as much as twelve. However, a scoreless streak that lasted nearly seven minutes allowed the Tornado to drop the deficit to a point. The Crusaders were able to heat up again, extending the lead back up to twelve. Five points by King to close out the half put NGU up by seven at the half. The first ten minutes of the second half were closely contested, but another scoreless streak by North Greenville put King up by as much as twelve. However, NGU was able to put up a fight late to get back into the game, closing the deficit down to two. Down by three, the Crusaders went for a rebound after a missed free throw but would be unable to convert on the rebound. Time would then run out as King would hang on for the win. North Greenville ended the night with a .386 field goal percentage. 

Jacob Brown posted a double-double, finishing with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and an assist. Caleb Williams neared a double-double of his own with 12 points, 8 rebounds, a block, and an assist. CaDarrius Sowell finished with 12 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds.

NGU will face the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University on Wednesday, February 7th at Hayes Gymnasium.
