Due West, S.C. – North Greenville kept pace in the race for a post season spot on Saturday with a decisive 60 – 46 win over Erskine College.
The Crusaders battled in a game which saw six ties and four lead changes throughout the 40 – minutes of play. A defensive struggle in which neither team shot better than 40 – percent, North Greenville knocked down nine three – pointers compared to the Fleet which hit just five, a stat which weighed heavily on the outcome of Saturday's Conference Carolinas tilt.
NGU led by as many as 10 – points in the first half but the fleet chipped away, eventually nabbing a three – point lead in the second half. The Crusaders responded with an 11 – 2 run, taking a nine – point lead with 8:06 left in the game.
North Greenville would never trail again, extending the lead to as many as 15 – points on a
Caleb Williams jumper.
Zak Perdew led North Greenville with 15 – points, going 5 of 8 from three – point range.
Max Topham finished with nine – points while
Caleb Williams had eight.
