Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a 99-70 win over the Hornets of Morris College this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU began things with a 10-0 lead, but Morris would bounce back to get within three. However, from there the Crusaders would thoroughly pull away throughout the remainder of the first half, ultimately going into halftime with a twenty-one point lead. The Crusaders would continue to build up the lead in the second half, outscoring the Hornets by eight and going on to win by twenty-nine. NGU had a strong night of shooting overall, finishing with a field goal percentage of .487 from the field. The Crusaders were able to crash the boards as 42 of their points were in the paint. Second chance points also benefitted NGU as 13 second chance points were the result of 18 total offensive rebounds.
Max Topham posted 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
Linus Helmhold put together a good game as well, finishing with 11 points, 4 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. CaDarrius provided 10 points of his own as well as 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, January 3rd against the Tornado of King University in Bristol, Tennessee.
