Livingston, AL – North Greenville was clipped by #15 West Alabama 17 – 14 on Saturday on the road in Gulf South Conference Play.
The Trailblazers opened the game with a scoring drive that lasted 12 – plays and went 47 yards.
Brandon Bowman capped the drive with a field goal to make it 3 – 0 in the first quarter.
The Tigers scored the next 17 – points including a field goal in the first and touchdowns in the second and fourth quarter.
NGU trailed by 14 – points until the final frame but tacked on 11 – points with a Bowman field goal and
Dylan Ramirez's fourth rushing score of the season to cut the deficit to just three points.
North Greenville's onside attempt was unsuccessful with the clock under two – minutes as West Alabama escaped with the three – point victory.
Ramirez led NGU in rushing with 68 yards. He was sacked six times in the passing game but finished with 235 – yards.
AJ Tolbert was the leading receiver for NGU with 71 – yards on four receptions.
De'Iveon Donald led North Greenville with five total tackles.
Kendrick Clark finished the game with three tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass break-up.
