Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers advanced to the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament after sweeping the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. Things began with a 25-19 set victory for NGU. The Trailblazers would follow the opening set with their best set of the evening as a .364 set attack percentage led to a 25-21 set win to go up 2-0 in the match. A highly competitive set three would ultimately require extra points, but NGU would score three of the final four points to take the set with a score of 27-25.
Anna Fiddelke led the charge for NGU, posting eleven kills along with four digs, two block assists, and a solo block.
Elena Dyer also finished with eleven kills and also provided five digs, a solo block, and a block assist.
Samantha Ball and
Peyton Taylor both posted double-doubles as Ball recorded ten kills and fifteen digs while
Peyton Taylor finished her night with ten kills and sixteen digs.
NGU will head to Charleston, South Carolina to face the Converse Valkyries on November 21st in the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
