North Greenville Powers Past Benedict in Non-Conference Play

Columbia, S.C. – North Greenville scored 21 – unanswered points int he first half on Saturday which helped power the Trailblazers to a 38 – 21 win over Benedict College in non-conference action. 
 
North Greenville took a 14 – 0 lead when Dylan Ramirez found Ahmari Coats for a pair of 86 – yard touchdowns in the first half.  Coats finished the day with a career high 182 – yards receiving and a pair of scores. 
 
North Greenville forced a pair of turnovers in the first half, both of which were forced fumbles. The second of the two first half turnovers resulted in a touchdown for North Greenville. Ethan Jackson forced a fumble that was picked up by Kendrick Clark at the two-yard line. Yavin Smith would score one play later to extend NGU's lead to 21 – 0. 
 
The Tigers scored a touchdown in the waning seconds of the first half and followed it with a touchdown in the third quarter with 10:48 left on the clock.
 
The Trailblazers responded with a pair of touchdowns and a field goal while the defense held the Tigers scoreless until late in the fourth quarter. Dre' Williams scored his first touchdown of the year with an 8 – yard rush while Jacob Walker capped an NGU scoring drive with a two – yard rushing score. 
 
Dylan Ramirez finished with 377 – yards passing and a pair of scores on Saturday. Three different players scored rushing touchdowns. North Greenville finished with 427 - yards of total offense. 
 
Termaine Epps led NGU with six total tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss. James Wells had 1.5 sacks to lead North Greenville and also had a forced fumble.
