Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers took over sole possession of the lead in the Northwest Division of the Conference Carolinas standings with a 3-2 victory over the Converse Valkyries at Hayes Gymnasium. Converse claimed the lead early on by taking the opening set with a score of 25-16. However, NGU bounced back in set two to win it 25-18. Momentum would remain with North Greenville as they would take set three with a score of 25-19. The Valkyries recovered from their deficit in set four, easily tying up the score with a 25-16 set win. Set five would prove to be the most competitive of the match. North Greenville pulled ahead and maintained a healthy lead until a four point run by Converse closed the deficit to three. However, a bad set ended the match with a 15-12 set victory for NGU.
Samantha Ball finished with a double-double, posting eleven kills along with sixteen digs, four service aces, three block assists, and an assist.
Nicole Santiago recorded eleven kills, two service aces, a block assist, and a dig.
Elena Dyer finished with ten kills.
North Greenville will face the Bobcats of Young Harris College tomorrow at Hayes Gymnasium.
