The North Greenville Trailblazers ended the afternoon with a draw against the Valkyries of Converse University with a final score of 1-1 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Things started with a scoreless first half that resulted in seven shots for Converse and three shots for North Greenville. In the second half, the Valkyries were able to get on the board early on with a goal in the 53rd minute. However, North Greenville would respond in the 73rd minute when a penalty kick goal by
Renan Macuglia became the equalizer. The remainder of the half saw just three more shots between the two teams, and time would run out with a 1-1 draw. North Greenville had to defend against ten shots on goal by Converse. Nine resulted in saves while just one turned into a goal.
Ricardo Marques posted nine saves at goalkeeper. Vinivius Silva led NGU in total shots with two.
Renan Macuglia made his only shot of the afternoon count as a penalty kick resulted in his fifth goal of the season.
North Greenville will return to action on Wednesday, October 23rd against the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University at Pepsi Stadium.
