Big Plays Propel North Greenville to Win over West Alabama

Tigerville – North Greenville opened Gulf South Conference play on Saturday with a 23-16 win over West Alabama. 
 
Key Plays 
  • North Greenville jumped out to a quick lead When Dre Williams took a Dylan Ramirez pass 76 – yards for his third touchdown of the season. 
  • Williams and Ramirez would hook up for another touchdown later in the game from 24 – yards out. A score that gave North Greenville a 17 – 13 lead in the second quarter. 
  • North Greenville got a big game out of kicker Colin Karhu who knocked through three – field goals including a new school record 54 – yarder at the end of the first half that extended NGU's lead to 20 – 13 at the moment.
  • North Greenville got several big plays on the defensive side of the ball including a goal line stand in the third quarter after West Alabama recovered a fumble inside the North Greenville 10 – yard line. 
  • Fred Billy nabbed his first interception of the season later in the second half which resulted in NGU's only points of the second half. 
  • Cale Swift accounted for a big play on special teams forcing a West Alabama fumble on a punt return. 
Individual 
  • Colin Karhu was a perfect 3 – 3 on field goals and added a pair of extra points to his stat line.  
  • Dylan Ramirez threw for 305 – yards and a pair of scores while Dre Williams finished with 126 – yards on seven receptions and both touchdowns. 
  • Fred Billy had a team high seven tackles and picked off a pass. 
  • De'Iveon Donald also had seven tackles.
