Valdosta, GA - North Greenville's offense was held out of the endzone on Saturday in a 28 – 3 loss to Valdosta State.
North Greenville's lone score came on the leg of
Colin Karhu who hit on a 50 – yard field goal in the second quarter which cut the Blazers lead to 14 – 3. VSU score a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 14 – 0 lead.
Offensively both teams finished nearly equal in total yardage. North Greenville finished with 333 – yards while VSU had 337. The Blazers added touchdowns in the second and third quarter to extend their lead to 28 – 3. The Crusaders turned the ball over three times including a fumble, interception and on downs while Valdosta State had zero turnovers.
Individually,
Corey Watkins had his best game of the season with 86 – yards on the ground on 16 – carries.
Dylan Ramirez had 221 – yards on 37 attempts and an interception.
Cole Richardson lead all NGU receivers with 62 – yards on seven catches.
Defensively
De'Iveon Donald led NGU with nine tackles including 2.5 for a loss.
Curtis Ryans finished with six tackles and two stops for a loss.
