Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders played a tough game against the Valkyries of Converse University but were ultimately unable to come away with the victory this evening at Hayes Gymnasium, falling by a final score of 76-73. After the Crusaders led by three at halftime, NGU opened up a double-digit lead throughout the majority of the second half, leading by as much as fourteen with less than seven minutes remaining. However, from there a scoreless drought by NGU resulted in Converse fighting back to score seventeen points in a row and take a three point lead. The Crusaders were able to end the drought with several three pointers to stay within striking distance, but Converse would ultimately escape Hayes Gymnasium with the victory.
Key Stat: Free Throws - Converse would go perfect from the free throw line, making all seven shots. NGU would record a total of twenty free throw attempts, but would miss six of them.
