The North Greenville Crusaders suffered its first conference loss of the season to the Converse Valkyries with a final score of 3-2 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. After dropping set one in extra points 28-26, NGU bounced back to easily take set two with a score of 25-17. Set three proved to be a tight one, but NGU would come away with the set with a score of 25-23. It would be Converse who would easily take set four with a score of 25-17. Both teams struggled to limit errors in the fifth set, but the Valkyries would do just enough to come out of the matchup with the victory as they would narrowly take the final set 16-14. The loss is North Greenville's first in conference, and also snapped an eleven match winning streak.
Abigail Durham hit a career high, finishing with 29 kills. She also recorded 10 digs to complete a double-double and provided 3 block assists, a service ace, and an assist.
Elena Dyer posted 17 kills, 4 block assists, and 2 digs.
Jessica Connelly also finished with a double-double, scoring 13 kills and 11 digs while also providing 2 assists.
NGU will return to action tomorrow against the Belmont Abbey College Crusaders in Belmont, North Carolina.
