  • Daughter of Bud and Melanie Connelly. She is one of three children. Jessica graduated from Wilmington University with a Bachelor of Science in biology in spring of 2023. She is now working on a master’s in biomedical sciences with plans to get a Ph.D. in cancer biology or genetics to work in the research field. In high school, Jessica played volleyball and soccer. Jessica, a two-year letter winner as an outside hitter for coaches Jessica Furlough and Kelly Baldridge, helped lead her high school team to back-to-back conference championships as a junior (2019) and senior (2020). In her senior year Jessica was named the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year (2020) and led the team and conference in kills as a junior and senior. Additionally, she won All-Conference Offensive Player of the Year (2020), was a Riddle & Brantley Scholar Athlete (2020), and four-time All-Conference Academic Award winner. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Jessica played volleyball at Wilmington University (DII). In her two seasons as a Wildcat, she appeared in all 34 matches and finished the season 11th overall in the CACC with 232 kills and had 124 digs. Additionally, was placed on the CACC All-Academic Team for two years and was selected to be in Sigma Zeta National Science Honor Society. She served as Student Government President and was a SAAC member. As a seasoned player, Jessica brings craftiness to the court from experience competing in outdoor (beach and grass) tournaments.
