Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a dominating performance in a 3-0 sweep of the Young Harris Mountain Lions. The matchup was the first between the two programs as conference opponents. NGU started things off with an 8-0 run and went on to win the one-sided set with a score of 25-12. The Crusaders ended the set with a .393 hit percentage with just two attack errors. Set two would be a similar story as an early 11-3 run by North Greenville would be more than enough to put the set on ice early on. NGU posted an impressive .483 hit percentage with just two attack errors to win the set with a score of 25-14. Set three proved to be competitive early on, but North Greenville would slowly but surely pull away from there. Young Harris was able to put up a fight to keep the deficit to five or six throughout, but they would eventually run out of time as NGU would take the set 25-18 with a .424 hit percentage. North Greenville led in all categories including nearly doubling the Mountain Lions in kills 47-24.
Abigail Durham led the night in kills with 18 along with 5 digs, 2 block assists, and an assist.
Jessica Connelly put together a solid night, finishing with 11 kills and a dig without a single attack error committed.
Ashlyn Conner provided 35 assists, 17 digs, and 5 service aces.
North Greenville will return to action on Friday, October 13th against the King Tornado on Dig Pink Night at Hayes Gymnasium.
