Rome, GA – North Greenville fell behind early and never fully recovered in a 31 – 14 loss to Shorter on Saturday.
The Crusaders faced the potential of falling behind 28 – 0 in the second quarter but a defensive stop and a blocked punt put in motion NGU's first touchdown of the day.
Rylan Ashe was credited with the block.
North Greenville turned around and marched 56 – yards on just three plays. Dylan Ramirez took it in from three-yards out to cut the Hawks lead to 21 – 14 with 11:07 left in the half.
Ramirez's rushing touchdown would be NGU's only score until late in the fourth quarter. North Greenville attempted a field goal before the end of the first half but the Hawks blocked the kick to keep North Greenville at seven points.
Defensively the Crusaders held Shorter to 10 second half points with a touchdown coming with four minutes left in the third period. The Hawk stacked on a late field goal. North Greenville's second half touchdown was a 32 – yard touchdown pass to Corey Watkins with just over a minute left in the game.

- De'Iveon Donald and Jayden Clayton led North Greenville with 11 tackles. Clayton finished with one stop for a loss while Donald tacked on 1.5 TFL's.
