Tigerville – The 2022 football season came to a close on Saturday as North Greenville fell to #19 West Georgia 43 – 36 in Younts Stadium.
Another high scoring affair in Younts Stadium with more than 1,000 yards of combined offense. North Greenville finished with 466 of those yards including 251 – rushing yards and another 241 – yards through the air. The Wolves finished with 645 – yards total including 424 – yards through the air.
North Greenville once again led at half time but the Crusaders trailed late after a rally by the Wolves late in the second half. West Georgia scored 17 – unanswered points in the final 17 minutes of the game to escape Tigerville with the non-conference win.
North Greenville trailed early but a 47 – yard touchdown pass from Dylan Ramirez to Tyler Hamilton made it 7 – 6 in the first quarter. back-to-back scores to end the first half and early in the third quarter earned the Crusaders a 29 – 19 lead.
North Greenville tacked on one more touchdown, a score coming with 6:27 left in the third quarter when Corey Watkins took it in from 57 – yards out, a score which made it 36 – 26 in favor of North Greenville. Watkins finished with 146 – yards on 20 – attempts and touchdown. He is the first NGU back to eclipse the 1,000 yard mark since 2016.
The Wolves scored the next 17 – points to take a 43 – 36 lead with just over two minutes left in the game. North Greenville put together a drive in hopes of evening the score but a fumble with 37 – seconds left on the clock.

- Dylan Ramirez finished with 197 – yards and a pair of passing touchdowns. He also tacked on a pair of rushing touchdowns to go with 69 – yards rushing.
- Tyler Hamilton led NGU with 80 – receiving yards and a score while Quintin Sanders had 78 – yards and a touchdown.
- Jaiden Clayton had 11 – total tackles to lead the defense.
- Curtis Ryans had six tackles and led North Greenville with 1.5 tackles for a loss.
- Fred Billy collected an interception and finished with two tackles.
