Undefeated Conference Record Over as North Greenville Falls to Belmont Abbey

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders fell on the short side of the Battle of the Crusaders with a 17-7 loss to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. NGU led in total shots 51-37, but BAC would make the most out of their shots as all but twelve of Belmont Abbey's shots were on goal. Thomas Cecere and Brendan Sullivan scored two goals each.

Recap
  • Momentum would belong to Belmont Abbey to start off the match as they would jump out to a quick 4-0 lead. However, North Greenville was able to respond with goals by Brendan Sullivan and Thomas Cecere. 
  • In the 2nd quarter, North Greenville would pull within one when Austin Zumbado connected for a goal, but Belmont Abbey would go on to dominate the remainder of the half, scoring six straight goals to lead 10-3 at halftime.
  • BAC scored first in the 2nd half just past five minutes into the 3rd quarter. Thomas Cecere scored his second goal of the match afterwards, but Belmont Abbey would respond with two goals to lead 13-4 after three.
  • Belmont Abbey would pull away further to begin the 4th quarter, scoring four in a row. NGU would go onto score the final three goals of the match, which were scored by Alex Brooks, Brendan Sullivan, and Matt Heyden.
