Late Run Not Enough in Loss to Emmanuel

North Greenville fell short on the road against the Emmanuel Lions with a final score of 94-87 in Franklin Springs, Georgia. After falling behind in the first half, the Crusaders stormed back in the second and nearly completed the comeback. However, a late run by the Lions proved to be enough to hang on for the win. Jacob Redding led NGU with 23 points. C.J. Jamison finished just behind with 22 points.

Recap
  • After five points by the Lions to begin the game, the Crusaders quickly responded with five points of their own including a three pointer by C.J. Jamison. The score would remain tight until an eight point run, six of those being free throws, by the Lions allowed them to open up a nine point lead. Emmanuel would increase the lead to double digits, and would go into halftime up by fourteen.
  • After the Lions led by as much as 18 seven minutes into the 2nd half, NGU would slowly but surely cut into the deficit. With seven minutes remaining in the game, that deficit was cut all the way down to two points. A nine point lead opened the Emmanuel lead back up to twelve points. A late eight point run by NGU brought the Crusaders within four with less than a minute remaining, but would ultimately come up short.
