Cokley's Big Game Propels NGU Over Erskine

Tigerville, SC - North Greenville wrapped up its final home game of the regular season with a 96-90 win over the Erskine Flying Fleet at Hayes Gymnasium. A big first half by the Crusaders proved to be enough to hang on in the second half for the win. Jalon Cokley had another strong performance, scoring 28 points.

Recap
  • A fairly even start to the game saw several lead changes between the two teams. Trailing by one, an 11-2 run would allow NGU to take a nine point lead. Erskine would draw back within four, but NGU would soon open things back up to double digits, eventually taking a fourteen point lead at halftime.
  • North Greenville would hang on to a comfortable lead for the first two minutes of the half, but a ten point run by the Flying Fleet cut the deficit down to ten. Erskine drew back within single digits several times throughout the half, but North Greenville would fight back to open the lead back up. With less than a minute remaining, the Flying Fleet would get within four points of tying things up, but two free throws by Jacob Redding would put the game on ice as the Crusaders would ultimately win the game by six points.
Individual
  • Jalon Cokley led the Crusaders with an impressive 28 point performance. He also posted 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.
  • Jacob Redding hit double digits as well with 14 points. 
  • C.J. Jamison recorded 12 points with 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
