- Both teams shot well throughout the opening half, with the Warriors slightly edging the Crusaders with a .516 field goal percentage as well as a 40-39 lead going into halftime. NGU did go cold for several minutes in the half, allowing SWU to jump out to a fourteen point lead. However, a late run by the Crusaders would nearly completely close that deficit.
- The game continued to be tightly contested in the 2nd half, with neither team leading by more than four points throughout the half. Southern Wesleyan struggled slightly from the field, posting a .323 percentage while NGU shot .458 percent. Down by one, NGU would go on to score the final four points of the game by way of free throws to take a three point victory.
