Crusaders Come Up Short to Conference-Leading Francis Marion

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put up a strong fight, but ultimately came up short with a 2-0 loss against the Patriots of Francis Marion University, who currently lead the Conference Carolinas standings. After being out-shot 10-3 in the first half, the Crusaders improved with six shots in the second half but ultimately were unable to get on the scoreboard.

Recap
  • Francis Marion provided the offense early on with five of the first six shots of the half including a goal to get on the board. Luiz Neto put up NGU's first shot of the match, but only two additional shots would be recorded for the remainder of the half for the Crusaders as they would trail at halftime with a score of 1-0.
  • Just over fifteen minutes into the second half, the Patriots would add to their lead with a goal to go up 2-0. The Crusaders would post six shots in the second half with three of them on goal, but ultimately NGU was kept off the scoreboard as time would expire with the final score being 2-0 in favor of Francis Marion.
