NGU Wraps Up Weekend With Sweep of Barton

The North Greenville Crusaders continue to fire on all cylinders as they finished a busy week with a sweep of the Bulldogs of Barton College this morning in Wilson, North Carolina. NGU's last five wins have come in the form of a sweep with all five of those matches being conference matches. The Crusaders recorded a .191 attack percentage while the Bulldogs were limited to a .128 percentage.

Recap
  • North Greenville began the match with four straight points and was able to maintain a small but manageable lead throughout the remainder of the set. A run by the Bulldogs late in the set put some doubt into NGU, but ultimately the Crusaders would hang on to take the opening set 25-23.
  • The beginning of set two was completely dominated by the Crusaders, who scored the first eight points. Barton was able to slowly but surely get back into the set, cutting their deficit all the way down to a point. However, NGU would once again hang on to win set two 25-22.
  • Set three proved to be a competitive one until North Greenville ran away with it late by ending it on a 7-2 run. Although the Bulldogs kept it close early on, NGU would easily take the final set 25-17.
Individual
  • Abigail Durham once again hit double digits in kills, recording a total of thirteen.
  • Kelli Davis has a strong match, posting eight kills and just one attack error.
  • Ashlyn Conner provided twenty assists and four service aces.

  • The Crusaders will face the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College on Tuesday, October 5th in Tigerville.
