North Greenville Sweeps Morris For Second Time This Season

Sumter, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders completed a sweep of the Morris College Hornets with a dominating 3-0 performance this evening in Sumter, SC. NGU actually trailed in two of the three sets but came back to dominate all three sets. North Greenville finished the match with a .609 attack percentage and 23 service aces while the Hornets struggled quite a bit with a -.324 percentage.

Recap
  • Set one began on an even note as the score would remain tied at 2-2. From there, the Crusaders would take over, scoring ten of the next eleven points. Morris was able to string together three points, but NGU would go on to score thirteen straight points including four service aces to win the set 25-6.
  • After a 4-1 run by the Crusaders, the Hornets responded with three straight points to tie the set at 4-4. However, North Greenville would go on to score all but one of the remaining points including nine service aces by Bailey Shultz to take the second set 25-5.
  • Morris carried some momentum for the first time in the match to begin set five with three of the first four points. After pulling away to lead 12-5, the Crusaders would score the final thirteen points to win the final set with a score of 25-6.
Individual
  • Bailey Shultz recorded twelve service aces with nine of them coming in one set
  • Emmie Lancaster posted nine kills and just one error for a .727 attack percentage
  • Catherine Lant also put up nine kills and only two attack errors.
