Erin Allen Dominant in Win Over Converse

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a strong performance with a 3-1 victory against the Valkyries of Converse University this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU posted a strong attack percentage of .339 and also recorded a total of sixteen blocks. Converse also had their share of blocks but were limited to a .089 attack percentage.

Recap
  • The opening set began as a fairly competitive one, but NGU would eventually take control of the set with an 11-2 run. A .538 attack percentage with 17 kills and just three errors would allow the Crusaders to run away with the set 25-13.
  • Set two would result in Converse's best set of the night, a .241 attack percentage while the Crusaders committed just as many errors as kills for a .000 percentage. NGU grabbed the lead early on, but the Valkyries would claim the lead and not look back, taking the second set 25-19.
  • A one-sided set three would go to the Crusaders without any doubt. North Greenville would begin with a 15-2 run, and although the Valkyries would put up a fight, NGU would end the set with five in a row to easily take set three 25-10.
  • North Greenville would put together another strong attack percentage in set three, finishing right at .500 while the Valkyries posted a .182 percentage. The Crusaders started and ended the set on a big run, eventually winning the set 25-12.
Individual
  • Erin Allen put together a solid performance with 18 kills, 31 total attacks, and only two errors.
  • Abigail Durham was also strong with 15 kills and 25 total attacks.
  • Ashlyn Conner provided 30 assists and 5 digs.

  • NGU will take on the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University tomorrow in Tigerville.
