North Greenville's seven match winning streak came to a close this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium with a 3-0 sweep by the Patriots of Francis Marion University. The Crusaders played a tough match in all three sets, but errors proved to be costly as NGU would commit over twice as many as the Patriots. FMU finished the match with a solid .297 attack percentage while NGU slightly struggled with a .084 percentage for the match.

• Set one began with an 8-2 run by Francis Marion, but North Greenville responded with a 6-1 run to pull back within a point. From there the set would go back and forth, but ultimately the Crusaders were unable to take the lead away from the Patriots, who would score three straight to end the set at 25-21.
• North Greenville would hold the momentum early on in set two, holding on to a two point lead. However, Francis Marion was able to take the lead and never look back, going on to easily take the second set with a score of 25-17. FMU put together an impressive .412 attack percentage for the set.
• Set three was the story of momentum swings as both teams would post two significant momentum swings throughout the set. NGU posted the first one with a 6-2 run to begin the set, but FMU instantly responded by scoring nine of the next eleven. Afterwards, NGU would take the momentum back with an 8-2 run to lead 17-14. However, the Patriots were able to put together a largest run of the set to run away with it, a 10-1 run. The Crusaders put up one last fight by scoring three in a row, but FMU would win the set 25-21.
