Greene Scores as NGU Ends in Draw With King

The North Greenville Crusaders and the King Tornado ended in a draw with a final score of 1-1 this afternoon in Bristol, Tennessee. Both goals were scored in the first half. NGU dominated the second half in shots 9-4 but the match would remain tied to force overtime, and neither could score the winning goal.

Recap
  • The Tornado took shots early and often, with five shots coming within the first ten minutes. However, it would be North Greenville that found the back of the net first with an unassisted goal by Gareth Greene in the 22nd minute. Just over ten minutes later, King would score the equalizer and the score would remain tied going into halftime.
  • NGU proved to be the aggressors in the second half, posting nine shots while the Tornado were limited to four. Both goalkeepers were kept busy throughout the half as the two would combine for seven saves, which would be enough to keep both teams from scoring to force overtime.
  • The Crusaders continued to carry the momentum, recording five shots in overtime while King was able to get just one shot off. Time would run our for the two teams, though, and the match would end in a draw.

  • Gareth Greene posted NGU's only goal of the match.
  • Chrisyopher Holscher led in total shots with six, three of them on goal.
