Box Score Tigerville, SC - North Greenville put together a dominant performance with a 3-0 sweep of the Alderson Broaddus Battlers this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium. The Crusaders posted a season-high .490 attack percentage as well as 14 service aces, the 2nd most among three set matches in the country this season. Four different Crusaders recorded 6 kills each, with Jackson Gilbert and Cade McGee leading in total attacks with 10.
Set one proved to be a no doubter as the Crusaders would dominate from the start. NGU jumped out to a 12-3 lead to get things started. Leading 16-8, North Greenville would pull away further with a 9-1 run to end the set, taking it 25-9.
Alderson Broaddus was able to get a quick 3-2 lead early on in set two. The Battlers would stay within striking distance for a chunk of the set until North Greenville ended the set with a 12-2 run to ultimately win the set without an issue with the score 25-12.
The Crusaders put the nail in the coffin early on in set three, starting it off with a 9-1 run including three kills by Carter Eby. With AB not able to get any kind of run going, NGU continued to pull away further, and would end the match with a 25-10 win in set three.
NGU will return to action on Wednesday, February 26th against the Emmanuel Lions in Franklin Springs, Georgia.
