Box Score 2 Due West, S.C. – North Greenville dropped a pair of matches on Friday 3 – 0 and 3 – 1 to West Georgia and Francis Marion at the Erskine College weekend tournament.
Match 1
The Wolves Led the entire first set but North Greenville kept it close. The battle was eventually evened by the Crusaders when Erin Allen knocked down a kill on an assist from Eaden Shockley to make it 24 – 24.
The two squads would trade points with Katie McManaway making it 25 – 25 with a kill of her own but the Wolves would inch out the first set win with back-to-back points to win 27 – 25.
North Greenville Struck first in the second frame using an error from the Wolves to take a 1 – 0 lead then a 2 – 1 lead on another Allen kill.
The Wolves would turn on the tempo midway through though, storming out to a 15 – 6 lead after an NGU service error.
The lead would hold but NGU was able to cut the deficit to four (18 – 22) but the Wolves shut down the comeback attempt taking the second frame 25 – 18.
NGU was able to grab hold of a lead late in the third when Allen made it 17 – 16. The Crusader sled for much of the early frame. The Wolves battled back though and outscored the Crusaders 9 – 2 to finish off the three-game sweep.
Erin Allen led NGU with 13 – kills in game one while Courtney Williamson and Annie Beisecker had eight kills each.
Whitley Kahler finished with 13 – digs on defense.
Match 2
The Crusaders came out firing in match two to earn their first win of the day. The Patriots went up 17 – 16 late in the match but a kill and an ace from Allen and some offensive miscues by FMU made it 22 – 18.
Straight points from Williamson and an ace from Kahler made it 24 – 19 while Francis Marion added another error to help NGU with the win.
The Crusaders led late in the second set but Francis Marion stormed back to take a 20 – 21 lead. NGU later tied it up at 22 with a kill from Paige Beisecker and at 23 with a kill from her sister Annie.
Annie Beisecker made it 24 – 24 a point later but Francis Marion put the game away with back-to-back scores to even the set count at 1 – 1.
Francis Marion made quick work of NGU in the third set taking a 25 – 9 decision to take a 2 – 1 lead.
NGU trailed 20 – 16 late in the third but continued to battle and cut the lead to just two points when Allen continued her big day with a kill that made it 20 – 22.
Courtney Williamson later made it 22 – 23 with a crush but a North Greenville error and an FMU kill earned the Patriots the win.
Courtney Williamson led NGU in game two with 13 – kills. Annie Beisecker added nine kills while Erin Allen added eight.
Kahler had a career day with 24 – digs on defense while also adding a pair of aces.
Eaden Shockley had 35 – dishes.

NGU will wrap up the weekend at Erskine with matches against UVA-Wise at 2 pm and Lander at 6 pm on Saturday.
