Christian Turner is entering his 1st season with NGU Men’s Basketball.

Coach Turner had a playing career at Gardner-Webb from 2016-2020 and was a graduate assistant for Men’s Basketball. He was a part of an outstanding 2018-2019 season in which GWU was 23-12 and 10-6 in conference play. GWU had an 13-0 home winning streak overall: Marking the programs 1st Big South Conference Championship. Coach Turner started in 67 games over his career and was known for being an elite defender and a reliable player at the point guard position. He had a 2.5 assist to turnover ratio over his 4 years at GWU.

After his playing career was over Coach Turner immediately became a Graduate Assistant at Gardner-Webb University. Some of his responsibilities were organizing scouting reports, player development, assistant operations role, and head coach of the developmental team. Coach Turner led the developmental team to a successful final four season.

Coach Turner completed his undergrad in sports management and his master’s degree in sport education at Gardner-Webb University.

Coach Turner was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 21, 1997. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School where he had an exceptional playing career with multiple elite 8 runs over his career.
