St. Petersburg, FL — North Greenville opened the 2026-27 season in impressive fashion Friday afternoon, sweeping Wilmington (Del.) 3-0 at the McArthur Center.
The Trailblazers took the opening set 25-22 before pulling away in the second, 25-14. NGU closed out the match with a 25-16 victory in the third set to secure the sweep.
North Greenville finished the match with 42 kills and a .182 hitting percentage, while holding Wilmington to a -.017 hitting percentage. The Trailblazers also recorded four service aces and four total team blocks.
Karson Haley and Reagan Funderburk led the offensive attack with 10 kills apiece, while Peyton Taylor added nine kills and hit .320 for the match. Samantha Ball finished with five kills and 13 digs, while Allison Ball directed the offense with 41 assists. Macie Gentry led NGU defensively with 15 digs.
North Greenville returns to action later today against Pittsburgh State at 5 Pm.
