Gastonia, N.C. – North Greenville's bid for a Conference Carolinas Championship came to an end on Monday in a 13 – 0 run-rule loss to Young Harris in the championship game.
North Greenville fell behind in the first inning when the Mountain Lions led off with back – to – back home runs. North Greenville's best scoring chance of the day came in the bottom of the first inning but two runners were left on base including one in scoring position. NGU had just four hits all game as Young Harris pitching held the Trailblazers in check.
NGU pitching, which has been solid all tournament ran out of gas surrendering 16 – hits including three doubles and two home runs. Offensively North Greenville had four players going 1 – 3 including
Skyler Hegler,
Thomas Powell,
Josh Foulks, and
Cooper Noble.
Next Up
North Greenville will play an NCAA Regional Championship and will find out its chance to host next week.
