Tigerville – North Greenville trailed late but evened the score on Saturday afternoon but the Falcons would have the final say as they earned the 12 – 8 win over the Trailblazers.
Saturday's non-conference tilt proved close for much of the game with neither team leading by more than three goals until the end. North Greenville drew blood first as
Ryder Hamilton scored to make it 1 – 0. The first quarter mirrored the rest of the game as the two teams traded goals and runs. Montevallo answered with a pair of goals followed by two scores by NGU. The first quarter ended in a 3 – 3 tie.
Both teams would score three goals each in the second period as well with
Brady Saba putting in his first of the day.
Caden Castle and
Yates Miller would also score as the score at halftime would be 6 – 6.
North Greenville would trail by a pair of goals heading in to the fourth quarter after being held scoreless in the third. The Montevallo lead was erased quickly as
Ryder Hamilton and
Yates Miller would score on back-to-back chances to make it 8 – 8. The Trailblazer offense would stall in the final 11 – minutes of play however while the Falcons found offense late scoring four unanswered goals to hand NGU its second loss of the season.
Ryder Hamilton led North Greenville with a three – goal day, his first career hat trick. Miller and Castle both had two scores each.
Dalton Wilkins led the defense with a pair of caused turnovers while
Reid Harkins had four ground balls.
