TIGERVILLE, S.C. — North Greenville volleyball picked up a 3-0 victory over Shorter on Friday night at Hayes Gymnasium, earning a straight-set win by scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-19.
The Trailblazers came out strong in the opening set, hitting .296 as a team while recording 10 kills and limiting Shorter to a .103 hitting percentage. North Greenville carried that momentum into the second set, overcoming a late Shorter rally to take a 25-22 victory.
NGU closed out the match in the third set, recording 12 kills while hitting .116. The Trailblazers finished the night with 34 kills, 33 assists, eight service aces and seven total team blocks. North Greenville also held Shorter to a .084 hitting percentage for the match.
Anna Fiddelke led the Trailblazers offensively with 11 kills while hitting an impressive .611. Samantha Ball added nine kills and six points, while Peyton Taylor contributed six kills, eight digs and two blocks. Reagan Funderburk chipped in four kills and two blocks.
With the victory, North Greenville improves to 9-8 overall and 5-4 in conference play. Shorter falls to 7-9 overall and 5-3 in league action.
