Tigerville – North Greenville led early and battled back late on Saturday but came up a touchdown short against #13 West Alabama, falling 52 – 44 in a fourth quarter shootout with the Tigers.
North Greenville scored the first touchdown fo the day with
Dylan Ramirez rushing touchdown from the one yard-line.
Kimon O'Sullivan scored his first touchdown of the year to make it 14 – 7 in favor of NGU.
Following North Greenville's second score of the day the Tigers would answer with 21 – unanswered points to carry a 28 – 14 lead into intermission. West Alabama tacked on one more score in the third quarter to make it 35 – 14.
It took almost two quarters for North Greenville to find pay dirt again, but the Trailblazers would score in bunches in the final 17 – minutes of the game. Ramirez would throw four touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. North Greenville would score 17 – unanswered points including touchdown throws from Ramirez to
Sam Washam and
Aiden Brantley while
Cillian Bonner added a 32 – yard field goal to cut the West Alabama lead to just five.
Ramirez would hook up with Brantley once more and find
Jesiah Kotey for a touchdown but the Tigers were able to keep NGU at arm's length with big plays down the stretch to stave off the NGU comeback and upset bid.
Ramirez finished with 405 – yards on 31 completions and five total touchdowns.
Eric Rasheed led the Trailblazers with 95 – yards on three receptions. Brantley finished with 75 – yards on six catches and two scores. Washam had 75 – yards on seven catches and a touchdown.
Defensively
Bryson Oliver led NGU with 10 – tackles.
Brooks Russ-Martin had eight tackles and forced a fumble.
Isaac Hawkins had nine tackles and recovered a fumble.

North Greenville is back on the road, playing at Chowan to open up the month of October. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 Pm.
