NGU Sets Program Record in Dominant Victory Over Chowan

Tigerville, SC - For the second time in the 2025 season, North Greenville men's lacrosse set a program record for goals in the single game, defeating the Hawks of Chowan University with a final score of 30-4 at Pepsi Stadium. NGU's thirty goals broke the previous program record of twenty-nine set earlier in the season on March 4th against Emmanuel University. North Greenville dominated the match from the start, running away with things in the 1st quarter with eleven goals while not allowing a single goal. NGU would continue to carry the momentum in the 2nd quarter, scoring the first six goals to take a 17-0 lead. Chowan would get on the board and score the final two goals of the half as the Trailblazers would take a 17-2 lead into halftime. NGU would score the first goal of the 3rd quarter, and after the Hawks responded with a goal of their own, NGU would handle the remainder of the quarter by scoring the final six goals to take a 24-3 lead into the 4th quarter. North Greenville would pull away even further throughout the 4th, scoring five consecutive before the Hawks were able to end the scoreless drought with a goal. NGU would score the final goal of the game to win by a record twenty-six goals, also a program record. The Trailblazers finished with a total of fifty-eight shots with forty-two on goal. North Greenville recorded forty-five ground balls and twenty-five face off wins.

Five Trailblazers finished the game with four goals, including Nathan Bucey, Bryce Cordingley, Hayden Moffat, Caden Castle, and Nick Meier. Caden Castle finished the match with a total of eight points as he also provided four assists. Nathan Bucey, Hayden Moffat, and Nick Meier all recorded two assists in addition to their four goals.

North Greenville will face the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College on Wednesday, April 2nd in Young Harris, Georgia.
