Mount Olive, N.C. – Defense led the way for North Greenville on Saturday  leading the Trailblazers to a 7 – 5 win over the Trojans of Mount Olive. 
 
North Greenville built a 7 – 2 lead over the Trojans in the first half including five goals in the second quarter. Jared Steinman led NGU in the first half with two goals. The game was tied at two until North Greenville rattled off four consecutive goals including one to end the first and four unanswered scores in the second. The Trojans tacked on their second goal of the game with four minutes left in the first half but NGU was up to the task, scoring twice in the final minute including the final goal of the half with one second left. 
 
North Greenville's defense would be the story of the second half and game however. The Trojans held North Greenville scoreless in the third and fourth quarters but the Trailblazer defense would limit the opportunities for Mount Olive allowing just three second half scores, one goal in the third and two in the fourth. 
 
North Greenville caused 20 – turnovers in the winning effort. Gabe Nelson had one of his best showings of the season, finishing with 14 – saves on 19 shots faced. Tristan Stephenson and Cole Jenkins led North Greenville with four caused turnovers each. Jenkins also led North Greenville with seven ground balls. Caden Castle and Jared Steinman led NGU's offense with two goals each.
