Tigerville – North Greenville never trailed on Saturday in the season opener against Lincoln Memorial cruising to a 17 – 12 win over the visiting Railsplitters.
Yates Miller scored the first goal of the season for North Greenville with eight minutes left in the first period. A 6 – 4 half time lead for NGU ballooned to 15 – 6 after three quarters. The Trailblazers outscored Lincoln Memorial 9 – 2 in the third frame.
Jackson Reich and
Hayden Moffat both scored a pair of goals for North Greenville en route to the nine – point lead.
LMU outscored North Greenville by four goals in the fourth quarter but the Blazers tacked on a pair of
Caden Castle goals to maintain a comfortable margin to start the season 1 – 0.
Castle led North Greenville with five goals and a pair of assists.
Yates Miller scored three goals for NGU.
Gabe Nelson earned the win in goal with 12 saves.
