Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers began conference play with a 3-0 sweep of the UNC Pembroke Braves in the first home match of the season at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU thoroughly controlled the evening, leading in all but blocks including dominating in service aces 12-0. The Trailblazers struggle slightly in set one as seven attack errors led to a set attack percentage of just .107. However, NGU still easily took the opening set with a score of 25-15. Both teams improved in set two, but North Greenville would be the team to pull away, taking the set with a score of .286 with just three errors committed. Set three proved to be the most competitive, but NGU would pull away midway through the set. UNCP would put together a rally to end things, but North Greenville would ultimately take the set comfortably with a score of 25-19.

Elena Dyer put together a solid evening, posting nine kills, a block assist, and a dig. Samantha Ball finished with eight kills, seven digs, three service aces, and a solo block. Peyton Taylor recorded five kills and five digs.

NGU will take on the Flames of Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee on Friday, September 20th.
