The North Greenville Crusaders are advancing to the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament with a 21-13 victory over the Hawks of Chowan University this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. NGU was able to steadily pull away from the Hawks throughout the afternoon, outscoring Chowan in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters. The 1st quarter proved to be a competitive one as the Crusaders held a one goal lead going into the 2nd quarter. However, North Greenville would completely take over the game from there, outscoring the Hawks 5-2 in the 2nd to take a 10-6 lead into halftime. NGU would continue to dominate in the 3rd, running away with the game by outscoring Chowan 9-2 to lead 19-8. CU would put together five goals in the 4th, but NGU would easily hang on to complete the victory.
Yates Miller finished the day with 4 goals and a ground ball.
Hayden Moffat posted 2 goals and 3 assists.
Alex Brooks also scored 2 goals.
NGU will return to action on Friday, April 26th against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament in Wilson, North Carolina.
