Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders nearly erased an eighteen point deficit but ultimately came up shorts against the Barton Bulldogs with a final score of 76-74 this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU led the game in points off turnovers 20-8 as well as second chance points 10-2. However, the Bulldogs led in field goal percentage, finishing the game at .433 from the field. Free throws proved to be a key factor as Barton made 82.6% of their free throws while the Crusaders struggled from the line with just 57.7%. Three players recorded double-doubled, with two of those belonging to NGU.
Caleb Williams recorded one of the double-doubles, finishing with 15 points and 12 rebounds while also posting 2 assists and a block.
Jacob Brown recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double of his own. He also recorded an assist and a steal.
Max Topham posted 13 points , 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.
North Greenville will return to action on Tuesday, January 9th against the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina.
