The North Greenville Crusaders began their weekend with a 3-0 sweep of the Barton Bulldogs this evening in Wilson, North Carolina. NGU had a solid match overall, finishing with a .300 attack percentage and led in kills, aces, blocks, assists, and digs. The win improves North Greenville's winning streak to nine matches and a 5-0 record in conference play.

NGU was able to get off to a strong start in set one, starting things off with a 12-2 run. Down by ten, Barton would put together a five point run very late in the set, but the Crusaders would still easily take the set with a score of 25-17. Set two proved to be the most competitive of the match. Several runs by both teams kept the score close, but North Greenville would put the final run together to win the set 25-21. The third set was very similar to set one, with NGU leading early with an 11-4 run. The Bulldogs would again put together a late run, but the Crusaders were able to score the final point to take the set 25-17.

Elena Dyer put together an impressive performance, finishing with 10 kills with just 1 attack error. She also posted 3 solo blocks and 2 digs. Abigail Durham led the night in kills with 12 as well as 3 digs, 2 solo blocks, 2 service aces, and 2 assists. Samantha Ball recorded 9 kills, 7 digs, 2 block assists, and a service ace.

NGU will return to action tomorrow against the Chowan Hawks in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.
