North Greenville fell short of a comeback this evening in Young Harris, Georgia as a two goal deficit in the first half proved to be too much to overcome. Young Harris scored in the 13th minute then again in the 40th minute of the match to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. NGU was able to get on the board late in the second half, but it would be too late as the Mountain Lions were able to hang on for the win. The two teams ended the match tied in total shots with ten each with YHC leading in shots on goal 8-6.
NGU trailed early as Young Harris would get on the board in just the twelfth minute of the match. They would score again just over five minutes prior to halftime. Late in the match, the Crusaders would get on the board when
Matteo Galeotti found the back of the net for the first time this season with an assist by
Ethan Thompson. However, it would prove to be too late as NGU would be unable to score the equalizer. North Greenville did get one last shot on goal in the final minute, but a save by the YHC goalkeeper preserved the win.
Matteo Galeotti scored his first goal as a Crusader.
Paul Mues posted 2 shots, both on goal.
Michel Weber posted 5 saves.
The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday, September 30th against the Lions of Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, Georgia.
