Tigerville, SC - North Greenville put together a dominant performance tonight at Hayes Gymnasium, completing a sweep of the UNC Pembroke Braves. The Crusaders impressed with a .457 attack percentage for the match with just six attack errors committed while limiting the Braves to just a .163 percentage. NGU led the way in kills, blocks, assists, digs and narrowly ended with the lead in service aces.
A competitive start to set one eventually resulted in NGU running away with things. NGU ended the set on a 15-6 run to take the set 25-16. UNCP began set two with three of the first four points, but North Greenville completely dominated the remainder of the set. With the help of a 13-2 run, NGU easily took set two with a score of 25-12. Set three began with a 9-1 run by the Crusaders. UNC Pembroke fought back to make the set competitive, but North Greenville was able to hang to win the set 25-20.
Samantha Ball and
Abigail Durham both ended the night with 15 kills and just 1 attack error committed. Ball also recorded 8 digs while Durham posted 5 along with two block assists.
Ashlyn Conner provided 41 assists as well as 12 digs.
NGU will return to action tomorrow at Hayes Gymnasium with a conference match against the Francis Marion Patriots followed by a nonconference matchup against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears.
