Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders split a doubleheader with the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College this afternoon at Jan McDonald Field with final scores of 4-2 and 10-9. NGU finished the day with a total of seventeen hits and committed just two errors. Pitching controlled game one, but the Bobcats would get on the board with an RBI double to left center. NGU responded in the third when an error allowed NGU to even up the score. The Bobcats took the lead back with an RBI single in the fifth. In the seventh, LMC would then get two insurance runs in the top of the seventh.
Maddie Stone would hit a solo shot in the seventh to cut the deficit down to two, but Lees-McRae would retire the next three batters to hang on for the win.
Karley Green pitched all but one out, but received the loss. The Bobcats pulled away early in the game two with three runs in the first and two runs in the second. After NGU responded with two runs in the third and an additional run in the fourth, the Bobcats put together four runs in the fifth to take a 9-3 lead. However, North Greenville would claw their way back into the game, scoring two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth. Down by a run in the seventh, the Crusaders would even up the series in walk off fashion when
Ali Hartin homered off the scoreboard in left field to score the tying and winning runs.
